Our home is full of practical essential items, crockery, bedding, towels, utensils, personal toiletries etc etc. But they are just items to fill a house, the things that make up the first part of that famous quote. It’s the things that make up the second part of the quote that make a house a home!
Here is my 4 essentials that make a house not only beautiful but a beautiful home.

Room Inspiration: Industrial Kitchens
A combination of brick walls, exposed beams and metal and wood surfaces are the signature of the industrial kitchen.
Mix in rustic neutral tones, industrial light fittings, vintage mis-matched chairs and a large organic table made from salvaged wood to complete the residential meets commercial kitchen.
Interior Design Trends Throughout The Centuries
On Thursday 20th February I attended a CPD Presentation run by The Interiors Association in The Stillorgan Park Hotel, Dublin. The presentation, hosted by Ciara Nolan a committee member of The Interiors Association (of which yours truly is currently Vice President) and Kerry Meakin a lecturer of Interior Design at DIT.

Can you believe January is almost over already! Not that I’m complaining as I think it’s the most depressing (and frugal) month of the year. And it doesn’t help the frugality that my husbands birthday is in the middle of it! 😯
On a bright note though January/February generally marks the launch of the new Spring Summer collections and my inbox has been full of lovely press releases filled with lots of gorgeous new fabric collections.
The first thing that struck me was colour. And lots of it. It appears our favourite designers want to herald the imminence of Spring with lots of bold bright colours and prints.
