I hope you all had a lovely Saint Patrick’s weekend and you didn’t drown the shamrock too much 😛
And what a weekend it was! Ireland won the Six Nations rugby championship on Saturday, but in true Irish style didn’t do it the easy way! It was an incredible match and you didn’t have to be a rugby fan to have been caught up in the drama. I was on the edge of my seat for the entire match and I don’t think I have a fingernail left!
Yesterday was Saint Patrick’s day and the
country world went green to celebrate our national holiday. John and I decided against battling the maddening crowd at the parade and instead when for a lovely walk on the beach in Skerries. However I managed to pull a muscle in my back yesterday morning so a 40 minute drive and a walk along a sandy beach was probably not my best plan!!
When choosing my photo for this week, I did consider posting a Saint Patrick’s Day themed one or even one of the hundreds of shots I took on the beach yesterday but instead I decided on this lovely crocus (at least I think it’s a crocus) from my garden.
I love this time of year. The daffodils, snow drops and crocus are out and there is an abundance of vibrant colours peeping out from the ground. It means that winter is behind us and we can optimistically look forward to the long warm summer ahead.
Ok I know this is Ireland and we are lucky if we get a couple of days of sunshine! But that doesn’t mean we can’t hope
