If the kitchen is the heart of a home, the dining room must be the nucleus. Family and friends gathered around the table talking, laughing, reminiscing over old memories and making new ones!
The dining room is the ultimate gathering space. It should be atmospheric and inspire conversation. However all too often it becomes a catch all for home work; bills; newspapers; receipts, the list goes on.
Today I thought I would share some dining room inspiration to encourage you to reclaim your dining room from the clutter.
A world map mural and a very striking purple dining table give this school house inspired dining room from The Kitchn a very unique look.

Bring some fun into your dinner party by asking your guests to add their comments to this blackboard wall. Although I wonder how the quantity of wine might effect the comments 🙂
Create a modern dining space by bringing the outside in. Bold botanical print wallpaper adds scale and interest while retaining a natural feel through the use of a restricted palette of olive, grey, green and brown tones.
I love this idea! Blackboard paint on the back of the chairs so guests can easily see where they are seated. Image from
