Today is Emerald Interior Design Blogs 4th birthday! The last 4 years have been a wonderful adventure for me and I want to thank you all so much for all your support. Your comments, tweets, and emails always mean so much to me.
One of the things I love about blogging is the way you get to connect with people from all over the globe. It’s a weird but amazing friendship where you can form a bond with people without ever having met them.
When it comes to decorating your home, don’t be afraid to bring a mixture of colours, textures and finishes into your living space. The confidence to select items that speak to you will keep you from conforming to a rigid or fixed style look and introduce individuality into your home.
This will be the last post on this blog for the next two weeks as we’re off on holidays on Wednesday. Yay!!! As much as I would love to be sitting in front on my computer researching the latest interiors to share with all you lovely people, I’ll just have to make do with sitting in the sunshine, wining, dining and relaxing by the pool 😛
We’re heading to the Budva Riviera in Montenegro. I’ve never been to Montenegro before so I’m really looking forward to it. And of course the fact that the big orange thing will (hopefully) be shining in the sky makes it even better.
I tend to use the broken pieces as drainage at the base of other plantings. But then I saw a post over at Broadsheet yesterday and I thought it was just the cutest thing.

This post is not about me being sentimental. This is a little shout out to all of you who are members of the one club that no one wants to join!
It’s my way of remembering all the dads who we can’t buy a Father’s Day card for, or who we aren’t able to do something special with today.
We’re just back from a lovely few days visiting my sister in law and her husband and children in the gorgeous city of Geneva and already I want to go back! The weather was fabulous so being the sun worshipper that I am, I could have happily sat in the garden for the duration. But boy am I glad I didn’t! It’s a beautiful city and my sister in law showed us plenty of what it has to offer.
